You first need to decide whether you want an indoor or outdoor wedding. Weather can be the biggest detriment of all if you prefer an outdoor wedding. You never know what mother nature will throw your way!
Therefore, it is always good to have a back-up plan in case you must take it inside. Try to pick a venue that has both options. Outdoor weddings offer exquisite, beautiful natural backgrounds that can save on decoration costs as well as provide cool breezes, warm sunshine, luscious vegetation and beautiful flowers if chosen in the right season. You will, however, need to consider bugs, food safety, and hydration if during a warmer time of year. Make sure to thoroughly research the city, average year-round temperatures and various venues to see what they each offer.
You can always provide sunglasses as a wedding favor or put your wedding programs on a fan. Lay bottles of water around the area and offer moist towelettes. Make sure all flower décor is being misted as well. Indoor weddings are easier in many aspects.
Weather is not an issue, food is easier to keep warm or cold, most venues provide heat and air conditioning, sound quality might be better, and the bride and her gals don’t have to worry about make up sweating off before pictures! Unfortunately, since there’s no natural décor inside, you will have to spend more money on decorating the ceremonial and reception areas which can add up quick!
Whatever decision you make it will be an amazing and joyous occasion. You are starting a new life with the man of your dreams!
