Weddings are one of the most joyous days in two peoples lives.  Couples around the world look forward to becoming one and sharing a life together here on this precious Earth.  However, did you know the average wedding emits 63 tons of CO2?  The celebration of these two lives has a larger impact on the Earth than we thought!  Here are some eco-friendly wedding tips that will help preserve our lives and love on Earth.

Keep it Local and Used

-Using local vendors such as our very own Sophia’s Place, TinTop Gin, and Prima Vista Event Center can help reduce transport emissions.
-Search for pre-loved décor items at local markets (Route 66 Home Decor), instead of purchasing new ones. These fun, unique pieces can be used to decorate your home, and you’ll be supporting local businesses!

Consumable or Usable Favors

Wedding favors are a popular trend, but we don’t want them to end up in a landfill with a bunch of plastic wraps. Choose consumable or everyday useable items such as mini spirit bottles, jars of honey, plants, glassware, or tasty treats.

Waste-Free Wedding

-You can donate or sell items from your wedding to local non profits or photographers. Talk to your venue or planner to set up a plan for compost and recycling. Try going paperless and use leaves for place cards or confetti!
