Beauty Prep for the Big Day
Coco Dietz
Whether you are getting married this summer or next year, it is always a good idea to plan ahead anywhere you can to save brain space. Here is our guide for a beauty timeline that will have you shining on your big day.
One Year to Six Months Out:
Some brides have goals to be a certain weight before their wedding day. Whatever size you are, you will be beautiful on your wedding day, but if your goal is to lose weight, start that process six months to a year out to give yourself time to achieve that goal. Be warned, don’t lose weight the last month before your wedding. If you lose weight within that time frame, your wedding dress may not fit as well and it will be difficult to get it altered that close to the wedding date. The point of planning this far out in advance is to save yourself stress, not create additional stresses for you.
One to Two Months Out:
This is the time to get a spray tan, if that is something you would like to have done. Don’t experiment with what shade you would like to be. This should be something you have done before, in case it does not turn out the way you would like. Would you like to shape your eyebrows? Do it now. Want to add a little extra? Consider getting your teeth whitened. This small touch adds an extra sparkle to your smile for those wedding pictures.
One Week Out:
Crunch time. I know there is going to be a lot on your mind this week, but this is the time to get the larger beauty things checked off. At the start of the week, get your hair done. Especially if you want to dye your hair, do that first so that there is time to fix it if there is anything that you did not envision. Second thing to think about is getting waxed. Give your skin time for the redness and irritation to calm down before your wedding day. Next, your nails. Get a manicure and pedicure. For our DYI brides, make sure you do your nails after you’ve completed all of your wedding projects so you have less chance to damage your nails before you walk down the aisle.
